The analysis of urine proteins by CZE is more challenging than serum analysis because urine contains electrolytes, organic acids and other metabolites that can interfere with the technique. To prevent this interference, urine samples need to be pre-treated by filtration, dialysis or precipitation [144] and for this reason, the routine use of urine CZE is limited.
